FAQ

How do you hypnotise someone?

By talking to them. There is no physical contact whatsoever during hypnosis.

What is hypnosis like?

It is simply a pleasant, relaxing and dreamy state. Ther's nothing magical or mysterious about it!

Will I become unconscious when hypnotised?

Not usually. You may find that your mind tends to wander a little during hypnosis, but that is fine! You are not expected to concentrate on everything that is said to you. You simply relax and let the words flow over you. If you're very tired you might start to fall asleep but when I notice this happening I simply offer suggestions to refocus your attention.

Will I lose control when hypnotised?

No. At any stage during the session you could simply stop the process if you wished to do so.

Can I have someone with me during the session?

Yes - if you wish. Fine by me!

What sort of people can by hypnotised?

Almost anyone.

Almost anyone?

I would never attempt to hypnotise someone who is drunk or under the influence of drugs. These conditions can be treated non-hypnotically. It is unsafe to hypnotise someone who is suffering from a severe mental illness such as schizophrenia or who is suffering from visual or auditory hallucinations.

Can hypnotherapy be of any benefit to someone who does not have an actual problem?

Very much so! We only ever use a tiny fraction of our true potential. Hypnosis and hypnotherapy can help us to perform better, to overcome obstacles, to achieve goals and to use all the talents we have to achieve the maximum fulfilment in life.
